From practical to theatrical, gorgeous to grotesque...

Since 2005, Larissa has been a hard working and diverse makeup artist and hairstylist in Toronto. She received her certification in Makeup Artistry from Sheridan College with honours and began working even before her courses were complete.

Larissa's varied experience began in theatre and character makeup, with The Rose Theatre, Canada's Wonderland and Evil Dead: The Musical.

She branched out more into makeup for photography and fashion, joining such teams like Art of Fashion and FAT: Toronto's Alternative Fashion Week.

Her interest in all things vintage and retro lead her to find Toronto's vibrant burlesque community, where she began to beautify (and sometimes uglify) the dancers for their extravagant performances. This group had her travelling to festivals all over North America including the Hall of Fame weekend in Las Vegas.

Burlesque then bled into more alternative worlds like the LGBTQ, Drag and Fetish communities. Larissa has had the honour of working with some of the top photographers and models in the alternative world. In 2015, Larissa won the Top Alternative Makeup Artist in Toronto Award.

All throughout, Larissa found herself dabbling in film work by doing indie features once in a while. She is now a full member of Toronto's film technician union NABET700. She is very proud of the films she has worked on with two particular standouts - Edwin Boyd: Citizen Gangster which won an award for Best Canadian First Feature Film at TIFF 2011 and Brandon Cronenberg's Antiviral which had several nominations including Best Makeup at the 2013 Canadian Screen Awards. Check out her IMDb profile to stay updated on her on screen work.

Along with working on set, Larissa loves donating her time to teaching and writing. Besides, its in her blood - both her parents are teachers and before she discovered makeup, Journalism was her choice university major.

Her writing skill is featured as Beauty Editor for Canada's first and only woman-centric alternative culture magazine Missy/Ink, run out of Toronto, ON. She is their resident makeup maven and offers her expert opinion in reviews. Missy/Ink is available in Chapters and Indigo locations all over the GTA.
